NDJ Sustainable Engineering (NDJSE), LLC

Professional engineering consulting service focused on sustainability and reliability.

NDJSE, LLC improves infrastructure sustainability in energy efficient buildings and transportation systems. As our strategic goals, we 1) develop, produce, sell, service and license patent-pending building integrated solar panels for commercial and residential building markets; 2) develop functionally graded material manufacturing technologies and corresponding test and analysis methods for longevity and multi-functionality; 3) develop, service and license the open mode integrated transportation system (OMITS) for transit service efficiency and traffic monitoring and mitigation; and 4) develop engineering software packages for our customers.

NDJSE, LLC was established in May 2011 in cooperation with Columbia Technology Ventures for commercialization of the emerging technologies developed through the cutting edge research projects in the Carleton Laboratory of Columbia University. Columbia's Technology Ventures is an organization that includes more than 50 employees, which has in place the management, financial, IP professionals, including IP attorneys, tracking systems, and support staff to ensure the disclosure, capture, protection, and licensing of Intellectual Property (IP). It facilitates the early stages of transforming an invention of Columbia's faculty into a successful product. Columbia University's Carleton Strength of Material Laboratory is ideally suited to perform the research and performance tests. Within its space of 33,000 sft it is fully equipped and staffed to perform all kinds of tests on a variety of different materials. Thanks to the generous funding from the Carleton endowment, it is currently undergoing a major phase of upgrading and modernization with excellent facility in research and development of solar energy technologies and structural health monitoring technologies. Currently, NDJ focuses on research and development of the two technologies: the building integrated photovoltaic thermal (BIPVT) system and open mode integrated transportation system (OMITS).
